I picked up this book just for something to read but once I began reading I couldn’t put it down! I don,t even read Westerns! Phillip Hardy has a unique way of capturing your interest and you feel as though you are riding on a horse along side him! The details about the western town, the ranch hands and the gun battles put you in the book with the characters! I highly recommend this book!

This is an amazing book. I am an avid reader, and I loved it. Jim Harding is an amazing character. I shared it among a few of my friends, and one of them compared it as a Christian Louis L’Amour. It is not a long book, not much over two hundred pages, but the detailed, ingenious writing makes it a must-read.

I loved “Lone Oak”! I actually Received copies of “Lone Oak” and “Vengeance is Mine” together and read “Lone Oak” first (though chronologically in the storyline, “Vengeance is Mine” comes first). However, the story-telling of Mr. Hardy was crafty enough that doing so wasn’t detrimental to either book. I won’t give away the ending, but to be sure, Christ is glorified!

When pushed, it takes a big man to choose not to respond in anger…He can agree, he can smile, he can do all he can to avoid confrontation…But when the pusher keeps pushing. When the pusher chooses not to move on. When he makes it impossible to back down any further…Then when the big man brings the fury, the pusher will get everything he deserves…A tough , taut, traditional Western with a three dimensional main character who steps outside the traditional tropes…
